“It’s Debatable!” sessions connect argumentation, the Common Core State Standards, and content through evidence-based argumentation skills and strategies. Used in classrooms across any subject, these skills help students address text as evidence, make oral and written arguments effectively, and engage with their peers over any idea, topic, or problem and are aligned to the Common Core State Standards. “It’s Debatable!” provides opportunities for new learning, directed and guided practice, collaboration time to reflect and build new concepts into lessons, units and implementation plans, and participation in multiple levels of feedback with peers and expert presenters.
